USA Women Playing on Russian Super League Volleyball Teams

BARBOZA WITH RUSSIA’S UFIMOCHKA: Cynthia Barboza (Long Beach, Calif.), an outside hitter with the U.S. Women’s National Volleyball Team, is competing in Russia this season with Ufimochka UGNTU. Ufimochka won its third straight Russia Super League match on Nov. 18 with a 25-22, 25-27, 25-22, 25-21 upset over Dinamo Krasnodar. Barboza notched a match-high 25 points with 20 kills on 50 attacks and five aces. She added a 52 positive and 41 excellent reception percent on 27 chances. Ufimochka (3-4, 13 points) will seek a fourth straight win on Dec. 2 as it faces Uralochka-NTMK (4-3). Prior to the Russia Super League resuming, Ufimochka will play in the Russia Cup semifinal stage group D. Ufimochka opens with a rematch versus Krasnodar on Nov. 26, followed by Yenisei on Nov. 27 and Omichka on Nov. 28.

I had the pleasure of attending this volleyball game in Ufa, Russia.  It was a very exciting game with lots of action.  The Russian fans loved the game and were cheering for Cynthia and Destinee Hooker.

The photo below was taken at an Italian Restaurant in the middle of Russia.

  1. If you want to get great Italian food? You need to travel to Ufa, Russia. That is what I did. I got to see a fantastic women’s volleyball game and then we went out to eat. Take a look at just where Ufa is on the map. This is a long way to travel to get good food. These members of the USA Women’s National Volleyball Team sure loved the food. We did a photo essay of our trip to Russia and we invite you to take a look at it. Kids Talk Radio has following various players from the USA Women’s National Team from their NCAA College days, to the Olympics and now to Russia.
